Elton Johns’ 15th White Tie and Tiara Ball

15Καλλιτέχνες και φίλοι γιορτάζουν τα 20 χρόνια του

Elton John AIDS Foundation

Για 15^η συνεχή χρονιά Sir Elton John και ο David Furnish ανοιξαν τις πόρτες του πανέμορφου σπιτιού τους στο Old Windsor για τον θρυλικό White Tie & Tiara Ball, που πραγματοποιήθηκε σε συνεργασία με την Chopard. Αυτο το σημαντικό πριβέ πάρτυ φιλοξένησε μια πλειάδα διασημοτήτων που ελαμπαν με δημιουργίες της Chopard.  Ονόματα οπως  Uma Thurman, Elizabeth Hurley, Eva Herzigova, David Gandy και Samantha Barks, Natalie Imbruglia και  Freida Pinto. Ανάμεσα στούς αλλους καλεσμένους ηταν οι  Chris Martin, Jerry Hall, Grace Jones, Lily Cole, Matthew Morrison, και  Boris Becker.

Για την 20^η επέτειο του EJAF, το θέμα της βραδιάς ηταν ‘Love’.  Το θεμα που επελέγη φέτος, ειναι συνέχεια της καμπανιας στα κοινωνικά διαδικτυακά μέσα ‘Love Is In My Blood’  που λανσάρισε τον περασμένο Φεβρουάριο το Ιδρυμα του Ελτον Τζών για την γιορτή του Αγίου Βαλεντίνου.  Ο χορός ειχε το θέμα του έρωτα σε κάθε παραμικρή λεπτομέρεια της διακόσμησης.  Οι τεράστιοι θάμνοι με την λουλουδένια καρδιά υποδέχονταν τούς καλεσμένους στους ομορφους κήπους.  Το κόκκινο ηταν πάντα το χρώμα του Ερωτα, ετσι κατευθυνόμενοι στον χώρο του δείπνου, οι καλεσμένοι θαύμαζαν βιτρίνες με κόκκινες βελουδένιες καρδιές που περιείχαν μοναδικά ρολόγια και κοσμήματα Chopard, πάνω απο τίς οποίες κρεμόντουσαν καρδιές με φωτισμό νέον σε φωτεινό κόκκινο χρώμα.  Παντού στόν χωρο του δείπνου υπηρχαν ‘Love Hearts’ με φωτεινά χρώματα εμπνευσμένες απο τα κλασικά γλυκά και την Pop Art.  Το μπάρ είχε επίσης σχήμα καρδιάς ενω πίσω του επαιζε ενα βίντεο εμπνευσμένο απο το ‘Love is OUR Blood’ του Ai Weiwei.  Οι καρδιές και ο ερωτας ηταν πάντα ενα απο τα αγαπημένα θέματα  στίς συλλογές της Chopard, ετσι η Chopard ηταν πολύ ευτυχής να συμμετέχει στο θέμα αυτό.

Οι καλεσμένοι απήλαυσαν ενα θαυμάσιο δείπνο που ταίριαζε με το θέμα του έρωτα με ενα επιδόρπιο που ονομαζόταν ‘Loving Spoonful’ και απαρτιζόταν απο μια Μπόμπα απο passion fruit που είχε επάνω μια κόκκινη καρδιά.

Στην δημοπρασία που ακολούθησε υπέρ του Ιδρύματος, οι τυχεροί λαχνοί περιελάμβαναν δώρα οπως ενα αυτοκίνητο Audi με την υπογραφή της Gwyneth Paltrow, ενα εργο τέχνης απο τον Marc Quin και την ευκαιρία να παρακαθήσει σέ γεύμα με τον  Ελτον και τον Ντέηβιντ Μπέκαμ αλλά και μια αξέχαστη ευκαιρία να πάρει γεύση απο την λάμψη του διάσημου Κινηματογραφικού Φεστιβάλ των Καννών, που προσέφερε η Chopard.  Πέρα απο την δημοπρασία, υπήρχε και μια σιωπηρή δημοπρασία και η ευκαιρία της απόκτησης των δώρων των Super Brand που είχε ενα ρολόι Chopard και αλλα ομορφα πολυτελή αντικείμενα.  Χάρη στην υποστήριξη των καλεσμένων  συγκεντρώθηκε το ποσό των 3 εκατομμυρίων Λιρών Αγγλίας υπέρ του EJAF.

Στη συνέχεια της βραδιάς, την σκυτάλη ανέλαβαν οι Coldplay με μια μοναδική ερμηνεία και ενα ντουέτο με τον Elton John, επέλεξαν να ερμηνεύσουν τα πιό γνωστά τους hits ‘Viva la Vida’ καί ‘Your Song’.

Elton John : ‘Φέτος θέλουμε να δείξουμε με το White Tie and Tiara Ball οτι ο ΕΡΩΤΑΣ μπορεί να βάλει ενα τέλος στο AIDS.  Με την βοήθεια των θαυμάσιων δημιουργικών συνεργατών μας οπως η Chopard και τους γενναιόδωρους καλεσμένους μας ξέρουμε οτι το AIDS μπορεί να νικηθεί’.

Caroline Scheufele : ‘Oπως λέει και ο φίλος μου ο Ελτον στο τραγούδι του : ‘I believe in LOVE’ ….ευχομαι αυτή η 20^η επέτειος του EJAF να ειναι σημαδιακή και να συγκεντρώσουμε ενα ποσό ρεκόρ για να πολεμήσουμε το AIDS’.

Guests enjoyed a fabulous dinner in line with the theme of love with a dessert called the “loving Spoonful” consisting of a passion fruit Bombe surmounted by a red heart. It was followed by an auction held to benefit the Foundation; amazing lots included an Audi signed by Gwyneth Paltrow, a Marc Quin artwork and the opportunity to join Elton and David Beckham for lunch, as well as an unforgettable opportunity to experience the glitz and glamour of the world renowned Cannes Film Festival, donated by Chopard. In addition to the auction there will be a silent pledge and the opportunity to acquire one of the Super brand hampers which consist of a Chopard watch and other beautiful luxury items. Thanks to the support of the guests a generous amount of £3 millions has been raised to benefit the EJAF.

As the evening got underway Coldplay hit the stage with an exclusive performance and an electrifying duet with Elton John; they chose to perform their most famous hits “Viva La Vida” and “Your Song”.

Elton John: ‘This year we want to show with the White Tie and Tiara Ball that LOVE really can end AIDS.  With the help of our wonderful creative partners like Chopard and our generous guests we know that AIDS can be beaten’.

Caroline Scheufele: ‘As my friend Elton says in his song: “I believe in LOVE”… and I wish this 20th anniversary of EJAF will mark a milestone and we will raise a record amount to fight AIDS.’

Chopard and the EJAF:
